Emma Hurt is a reporter and editor working for Axios based in Colorado.
She previously covered politics for Axios in Atlanta and before that for Atlanta’s NPR station, WABE News. In that position, she filed regularly for NPR and Marketplace and served as a BBC Radio contributor during the 2020 election and 2021 Georgia Senate runoffs. She’s also an alum of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette where she covered the trucking and tech industries.
Emma traveled to Berlin as an Arthur F. Burns Fellow during the 2021 German elections.
She studied history at Rice University but comes by her profession honestly, as a third-generation journalist on both sides of her family.
